Larry R. Decker

Larry R. Decker, PhD (d. 2021), has specialized in post-traumatic stress disorder for thirty-four years as a clinical supervisor, a tenured professor at a California State university, a provider with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and President of the Trauma Recovery Institute a California. He has published extensively on subjects ranging from information processing to the spiritual nature of trauma. In 2018 he presented at The Parliament of World Religions—A Sufi and A Zen Master Discuss the Psycho-Spiritual Transformation of Combat Trauma. He was a consultant and featured therapist in Aronson Film’s 2019 feature-length documentary To Be of Service that explores complex stories of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and the service dogs they are paired with. He has studied universal Sufism since 1973.
