1922 I: January - August.
Original Texts: Lectures on Sufism

All known talks given by Inayat Khan during the first half of 1922, in their unedited and most authentic version. Many of the lectures from the early part of the year were taken from transcriptions in French, gathered from lectures Inayat Khan gave in Paris in public halls, and at private homes. Also from this timeframe are lectures from Inayat Khan's travels to Belgium and the Netherlands. The majority of the material in this volume comes from the period of the Summer School, June 16th to August 24th. In between the lectures in July and August, Inayat Khan privately gave twelve short lessons on Indian music to the young daughter of a mureed, and these can be found here as well. A very substantial number of the talks presented in this volume later were incorporated into a series of lessons for initiates into the Sufi Order; these are known as Gathas.

The Complete Works of Pir O- Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan
1926 II March - May.
Original Texts: Lectures on Sufism

This new volume, 1926 II, in the Complete Works of Pir-o-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan continues presenting the lectures he gave in America during his last visit there. 1926 I included the 65 lectures from December, 1925, to March 12, 1926, in San Diego, California; this volume contains the 54 lectures he gave on his return journey, from March 14 through the end of May, 1926. These lectures were exceptionally long and full, and represent a culmination of his public teaching. His return journey began in Los Angeles, then San Francisco, then Chicago, Detroit, and New York. The lectures were all taken down by his secretary Kismat Stam in shorthand, but she soon wrote them out in longhand as well, so our record of the lectures is strong. Many of these lectures have never before been published, and will provide a rich trove for those interested in the details of Inayat Khan's Sufi teaching. They also, by indirection, provide a colorful picture of the tumultuous spirituality of the Americans of that day, whom he was addressing. All in all, it is a most impressive and varied collection of teachings.

The Complete Works of Pir O- Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan
1926 I: December 1925 - March 1926.
Original Texts: Lectures on Sufism

Volume 1926 I in the Complete Works of Pir-o-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan presents the lectures he gave in America during his last visit there, from December 1925 through March 1926. These lectures were exceptionally long and full, and represent a culmination of his public teaching, just as the last Summer School in Suresnes which followed contains the culmination of his esoteric teaching. He began the tour with a long stay in New York, then proceeded to Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. This volume is the first of two to cover the tour, as the lectures are exceptionally long and the whole tour could not be presented in a single volume. They were all taken down by his secretary Kismat Stam in shorthand, but she soon wrote them out in longhand as well, so our record of the lectures is strong.
